Alphonse S. Micciche, 71, a Certified Master Craftsman of Photography and owner of the former Samuels Studio in Maynard, died Tues. October 1, 2013 at the Marlborough Hills Healthcare with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 47 years of Helen M. (Ferguson) Micciche. Born at home in Maynard, he was the son of Marion M. (Terrasi) Micciche and the late R. Samuel Micciche. A lifelong Maynard resident, his passion was photography. He graduated from Maynard High School and attended New York Institute of Photography. He then joined Samuels Studio, which was owned and operated by his family from 1935 until Mr. Micciche’s retirement 8 years ago. He was a member of the Professional Photographers of America, of New England and of Massachusetts, and the Commercial Industrial Photographers of New England, where he was a former past president. Mr. Micciche was an active member of the community. He served in the National Guard, was a lifelong member and Eucharistic Minister at St. Bridget’s Parish in Maynard, and a member of the Maynard Lodge of Elks. A member of the Maynard Area Auto Club, he was interested in classic cars, particularly his 1966 Mustang. He also enjoyed working with his late Springer Spaniel, Austin, and was a member of the Concord Dog Training Club. Mr. Micciche especially loved time spent with his family at their second home in Falmouth, and reunions with classmates from Maynard High School Class of 1960. Marion M. (Terrasi) Micciche, 95, a former longtime Maynard resident, died peacefully Sun., Feb. 23, 2014 at Sudbury Pines Extended Care in Sudbury. She was the wife of the late Samuel (Rosario) Micciche. Born in Maynard, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Maria Terrasi. The greatest love of her life was her family, and she enjoyed spending time with her family more than anything else. She worked for many years with her husband Samuel, then owner and founder of Samuels Studio of Photography in Maynard. The couple enjoyed extensive traveling over the years and spent many happy years wintering in Hallandale, Florida. A life-long member of St. Bridget’s parish in Maynard, she was active in many parish functions and fund raising activities for families in need. She delivered “Meals on Wheels.” Mrs. Micciche was a member and a former treasurer of the Saint Anthony Society and a member of the Son’s of Italy Society. She was also active in the Maynard Senior Citizens Club. She was the mother of the late Alphonse Micciche of Maynard, and sister of the late Antonio Terrasi of Maynard. Mrs. Micciche is survived by a son, Salvatore Micciche of Arlington, daughter-in-law Helen (Ferguson) Micciche of Maynard; a sister-in-law Marcia Terrasi of Maynard; four grandchildren: Lisa (Micciche) Murray and husband Paul, of Groton, Thomas Micciche and wife Madeline of Hudson, Brendan Micciche and wife Lynn of Hudson, and Jill (Micciche) Francis and husband William of Hudson; and...
