Money Heist: Korea: Joint Economic Area: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Nick Schager The Daily Beast As is so often the case with modern small-screen affairs, more is definitely not better, with a lack of concision leading to wheel-spinning detours and unnecessary subplots. Jan 30, 2023 Full Review Money Heist: Korea: Joint Economic Area: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (2) Jae-Ha Kim Rolling Stone The all-star cast is more than capable of delivering the goods. Yet the lack of chemistry between the romantic partners hinders, rather than enhances the plot. Here’s hoping that the second season will focus more on the backstories of the thieves. Rated: 3/4 Jun 24, 2022 Full Review Money Heist: Korea: Joint Economic Area: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (3) Reginald Ponder RogerEbert.com Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area is ambitious for its plan, exciting for the twists and turns, inviting for its characters, and is just plain addictive. Jun 24, 2022 Full Review Money Heist: Korea: Joint Economic Area: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (4) S. Poorvaja The Hindu Apart from the fresh background against which the heist unfolds, the show remains an almost faithful remake of the original and it is this predictability which becomes its undoing. Sep 27, 2023 Full Review Money Heist: Korea: Joint Economic Area: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (5) Johnny Loftus Decider It’s been a six-month wait for part 2 of Joint Economic Area. And now that it’s here, the classic heist movie components are all swirling on the big board. Dec 13, 2022 Full Review Money Heist: Korea: Joint Economic Area: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (6) Alberto Cox Délano Pajiba It’s disappointing to see that this remake is what comes from the union of two of the most inventive industries in film and TV right now, the Spanish and Korean. simon a I had to watch this nonsense all the way through to the end of its 12 episode just to see if it could get any worse. I never saw the original Spanish version of this series, but if it was anything as bad as this then thank God I didn't. What can I say! The plot holes were so huge that it's became like a long cartoon. I have expected Tom and Jerry wearing masks and carrying machine guns to appear. I normally love South Korean drama which is both stylish and well-written, but this was just total garbage. All I can hope is that this ridiculous drama is a one-off, and future South Korean shows will return to their high standards we'll start Rated 1/5 Stars • Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/12/24 Full Review Tony J It rushes the story of the original show but own its own a good watch and I will say that it has better cinematography than the original. Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/12/24 Full Review Richard R WOW it was as great as the first series of 24. It reminded me a bit of inside man and reservoir dogs with bits and pieces that it done throughout and the backstories being played as flashbacks. Yes I thought it was great and would watch it again. I would say if you are watching it and like me you don't speak Korean then just put on the subtitles and leave the language in Korean as the voice overs are terrible. The actors were all fab especially Park Hae-soo who played Berlin as the coolest guy in the place but so likeable and Jeon Jong-seo who played Tokyo, both were great but then again so we're all the actors even the weedy cunning director of the mint. Loved this, found no faults, would watch again and would recommend to anyone wanting to watch something with thought and that will have you rooting for the "bad guys". Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/25/23 Full Review Jeremy H Amazing story line, acting skills and music except for the ending. Didn't like how they all left to live their separate lives and also the fact that both Oslo and Moscow died (spoiler). Would have loved to see how their lives ended, hopefully it was a happy one…😔😔😔9/10 Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/15/23 Full Review walan 3 I absolutely loved it. I couldn't get into the original Spanish Casa de Papel, probably because I didnt get Tokyo's character and gave up watching it after 2 episodes. I am still aware of what happens in OG series as I loosely followed it. The Korean remake stays true to the original but adapts certain aspects of the story to their local Asian Korean audiences culture and sensibilities. The adaptions made here will be intreseting enough to those familiar with story whilst those new to it get to see how exceptional and worthy the original story was hence the remake giving it exposure to a new audiences whom would've otherwise missed out on the story and would never watch the Original Spanish version. The show verges on fantasy land when it creates a backdrop depicting a futurtic friendly neighbourly Korean Pensisular with a single currency abd is a about to launch a fully integrated unified open market. The acting is great particularly Korean Tokyo and Berlin. The camera work in the action scenes in the second half are fantastic and soundtrack is amazing. I am a fan of Korean remakes as I get to see how different cultures adapt stories to the local audience, the culture, the history and socio economic make of the country. Added bonus with remakes is you get to watch a limited series boiled down to a faster pace version of the original story with the greatest hits like the major and famous twists and turns included without getting roped in to commit to a 5 season series Rated 3.5/5 Stars • Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/14/23 Full Review Caroline W I haven't even seen the original, but I imagine it's way better than this. There was literally nothing I liked about it. It was like a bad anime but live action. Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews
