A while ago, when the original Captain America came out, we decked ourselves out with shields! Turns out, they are good for more than just being a super hero. They protect from the things sister might throw at them too! I’m not kidding! I find these girls, shields attached, saving the world from flying doll house furniture still. So when we headed to Walmart to pick up the movie and ingredients, like delicious and versatile M&M’s®, for a Captain America M&M’s® Truffle, I knew they were going to be excited!
Back to the super fun recipe! I love traditional truffles and I love cakes. But I also like to make fun things for the kids. So Captain America M&M’s® Trifle it was! The hardest part – and by hardest I mean the most fun and the one that will make me do 5 more minutes on the elliptical – is the sorting of the M&M’s® to get only the red and blue ones. One of the party sized bags I bought at Walmart had way more blue than red and the other had more red than blue. Go figure!
In any event, making this was super fun and the kids LOVED it!

This Captain America M&M's Trifle will sweeten your love of cake, M&M's and superhero your day!
Author: ADayinMotherhood.com - Lori Pace
Recipe type: Dessert
Ingredients
- 2 bags of M&M's - sorted to give you only red and blue - I used the party size
- 1 box red velvet cake mix
- 1 box blue velvet cake mix
- 6 eggs (or according to package instructions)
- ⅓ cup of oil
- 1 stick butter, melted
- 2⅔ cups of water
- Small box Jell-O Vanilla Pudding
- 1 cup milk
- 2 container Cool Whip
Instructions
- Make the red and blue cakes according to the instructions on the box. While cooling, mix the Jell-O, Cool Whip and milk in a bowl. Add a few handfulls of red and blue M&M's and fold in. Layer a bowl with cubed red cake, then the white Jell-O mixture, then the blue cake. Repeat topping with Cool Whip with no M&M;s mixed in. Sprinkle top with red and blue M&M's and serve!
This is a fun recipe for movie night – guess which movie – a birthday party or even the 4th of July. But more importantly, it make your little superheros at home smile!
There are so many amazing recipes that pop when you add M&M’s® to it. Make cookies just that much more sweet, add them to ice cream, blend them up in yogurt and more! I, for one, always have them on hand to throw into popcorn or mix with pretzels and marshmallows for a salty, sweet snack! Oh, and put them in the fridge… SOOOO good cold!

I love your Truffle Cake recipe. I really like that you can have the kids help by sorting the M&M’s. Plus I like that it’s in a bowl and doesn’t have to look perfect. You can use your own imagination.

You, like Tony Stark, are focused on achievement, ambition, and leaving a lasting legacy. You are very driven and not afraid to set lofty goals for yourself. It is very important that you leave a positive mark on the world. You are not afraid to be loud, and people know when you walk into a room. You are often the life of the party and love to surround yourself with friends.
