Intermediate Bearded (IB) Intermediates grow from 16" to 27�" and have their peak bloom after the SDB irises but before the TB's. These are some of the most useful plants we have for the garden.

The flower stalks range in height from 8 to 40 inches , depending on the variety, and are hardy in zones 3 to 9. Cultivars are often divided into groups by height, ranging from dwarf bearded to tall bearded. Blooms come in a range of colors, and the plants have stiff, upright leaves. All make good cut flowers.

What is the tallest iris?

Iris wattii is the tallest species of all the crested irises. It has fattened, 'bamboo-like' stems, that has grown up to between 50–100 cm (20–39 in) tall and 1-1.5 cm wide. Although, some sources claim it can grow up to 200 cm (79 in) tall.

However, Iris did not stay dead for long as Iris' biological parents, the Russells (with the help of a future Flash, John Fox), sent then-infant Iris to the past, where she was adopted by Ira West , her "death" causing a paradox that was resolved after the Russells placed her consciousness into a new body.

Does iris have a sister?

Family. According to Hesiod's Theogony, Iris is the daughter of Thaumas and the Oceanid Electra and the sister of the Harpies: Arke and Ocypete . During the Titanomachy, Iris was the messenger of the Olympian gods while her sister Arke betrayed the Olympians and became the messenger of the gods' enemy, the Titans.

Why is the iris so black?

The more melanin you have, the darker your eyes will be ; the less melanin you have, the lighter your eyes will be. Thus, people with dark brown eyes have a high level of melanin while people with blue eyes have a far lower level.

Size: Iris germanica typically reaches a height of 2 to 4 feet (60-120 cm) and spreads about 2 feet (60 cm) wide. Blooming Season: The plant usually blooms in late spring to early summer, with the blooming period lasting up to three weeks.

(1938) From Cooley's Gardens catalog for 1938: "A new iris so far in advance of others of similar color combination that they are simply not in the race. With clean white standards and bright purple falls, it might have been called 'Elk's Temple', so well does it call to mind the colors of that well known fraternal organization. The flowers are large and are borne on well branched stalks reaching almost forty inches in height."

(1953) "The variety Wabash is a good example of top-branching, but the habit has rarely been held against it for two reasons; first, the proportions of the plant are such as to help disguise the poor branching; and, second, there is as yet no widely grown substitute for Wabash.
